Larry Rodriguez named executive-in-residence at UH Shidler College of Business

Larry Rodriguez, former managing partner of Ernst & Young, has been appointed as an executive-in-residence for the fall semester at the University of Hawaii Shidler College of Business.

The executive-in-residence program gives students, alumni and faculty the opportunity to learn and work with a prominent business leader. Rodriguez will serve as a guest lecturer, and said he hopes to use practical examples to motivate and inspire students.

Rodriguez established a $300,000 endowed scholarship at the Shidler College of Business? School of Accountancy with current Ernst & Young?s Managing Partner Terri Fujii in 2007.

Rodriguez worked for Ernst & Young for 40 years and was a partner for 29 years. During his 40 years in the accounting profession, he served companies in the financial services, health care, airline, retail, hospitality, real estate and insurance industries. He provided services that covered taxes, internal control system evaluations and other operational activities for companies.

Rodriguez most recently served as the executive vice president and chief financial officer for Central Pacific Financial Corp. and Central Pacific Bank, where he assisted with the corporation?s recapitalization.

Rodriguez is involved with many local charities and community groups, serving on the board of Sennet Capital, Hookele Health Innovations LLC and Tissue Genesis Inc.
