- Here's How To Opt Out Of Instagram's New Arbitration Clause Instagram's updated terms of service includes a forced-arbitration clause that, if you don't opt out, causes you to forfeit your right to join or start a class-action lawsuit against the company. The new terms of service go into effect on January 13th, and users have thirty days from then to opt out by sending a letter to Instagram. Amazon May Cull Your Review Amazon is starting to clamp down on its user book reviews, recently deleting thousands of reviews?presumably to clean up bogus ones, although Amazon has not made any official statement yet. - VLC for Windows 8 reaches $65,000 funding goal on Kickstarter with five days to spare VideoLAN, the developers behind VLC?one of our favorite video players?have just reached their Kickstarter goal of $65,000 towards funding a Metro version of VLC. The Windows 7 version of VLC only works on Windows 8's desktop mode. The new version will be fully compatible with Windows RT and the live tile interface. Also, since the Kickstarter deadline isn't until December 29, VideoLAN has decided to use any extra money towards adding new features like camera input support, locally attached device integration, and support for Microsoft's remote-control/second screen SmartGlass app. [The Next Web]
